Holds top selling position in S. Korea's Digital X-ray Market with launch of "INNOVISION EXII ELIN-T7"
Forges partnership with Philips, supplies CT-MRI-ultrasound and other medical imaging devices

[의학신문·일간보사=오인규 기자] At the 36th Korea International Medical and Hospital Equipment Show (KIMES 2021), DK Medical Solutions (CEO Lee Chang-kyu, Lee Joon-hyuk), a leading player in South Korea's medical imaging equipment industry, is presenting its premium digital X-ray "INNOVISION EXII Elim-T7" and numerous cutting-edge medical devices including fluoroscopy, mobile X-ray, mammography, weight-bearing full-body X-ray EOS, C-arm for surgery as well as full-body imaging director (DS-LB).

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the its founding this year, DK Medical Solutions will be presenting a new solution for hospitals that are undergoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic under the catch phrase of "The Solution with DK."

First of all, the company's premium digital X-ray "INNOVISION EXII Elim-T7" aims to capture the market highlighting the product's best imaging quality and differentiated design. Not only has Elim-T7 been equipped with the latest technology of automatic positioning and tracking, but it is also equipped with cutting-edge software and imaging treatment algorithm that have been developed based on the company's knowhow accumulated for the past 35 years to fit the domestic market, and thus providing users with enhanced speed and high definition images.

In addition, when used together with the full-body X-ray detector (LongBone Detector), it enables fast and accurate imaging of full-body X-ray of 43cm x 130cm size with just a single scan.

Added to this, DK Medical Solutions has signed a partnership agreement with Philips Korea last year, and is supplying Philips' medical imaging equipment and healthcare solutions such as CT, MRI and ultrasound to Korea.

■ Enabling a full-body scan of up to 130cm with just a single scan... full-body X-ray detector (DS-LB)

Until now, full-body X-ray scanning required consecutive scanning of different parts of the body and then stitching them up into a single image using a designated software. Such process eventually led to possible error due to image distortion and enlarging, often noted as a key weakness in diagnostic imaging that prioritizes accuracy over anything else. However, the full-body X-ray detector (17”x51” LongBone Detector) enables rapid and accurate scanning of the full body with just a single scan.

As it does not require multiple scanning, it is pointed to as a groundbreaking alternative for patients with an inability to stand still for a long period of time or young children and women of child-bearing age who are sensitive to radiation exposure. Having no risks of error due to image distortion or enlarging, the equipment is especially helpful in accurate musculoskeletal system diagnosis. Another strength of the equipment is enhanced durability as it can significantly lower the load of high-cost X-ray tubes.

■ Weight-bearing full-body X-ray "EOS"

Unlike conventional imaging equipment, the EOS device, accredited by the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare for its new medical technology of "simultaneous scanning of front and side," enables a full-body scanning from head to toe with the bearing of the patient's weight, and thus making it possible to provide accurate analysis and diagnosis of one's musculoskeletal system. It also enables rapid acquisition of AP/Lat images in 1:1 scale in just 18 seconds.

In addition, it is a state-of-the-art equipment equipped with both 2D and 3D imaging technology that provides the most accurate musculoskeletal system diagnostic value incomparable to that provided by conventional X-ray. EOS enables by far the most accurate diagnosis of musculoskeletal illnesses including but not limited to twisted spine, pelvis, joints, knees and scoliosis. Utilizing its feature of accurate full-body scanning, EOS also enables early detection of pediatric scoliosis, which requires early treatment and prevention, leading to preemptive treatment.

■ Global bestseller, Mobile X-ray "MX8"

The mobile X-ray series manufactured by Shimadzu Co. of Japan, boasting compact design and outstanding performance, have already stationed themselves as a best-selling equipment within the Korean market, with over 500 units sold to facilities ranging from university hospitals to small-and-medium-sized hospitals. "MX8" is a mobile X-ray device designed based on the excellent technology of Shimadzu Co., and ensures the optimal level of mobility and convenience.

The collapsible column has been developed to realize a virtually unobstructed wide field of view during travel, making it ideal for daily hospital rounds and an optimized driving system enables smooth and light "touch driving." It is a premium equipment equipped with ultra-lightweight wireless X-ray detector.
