Crystal Architecture™ increases processing power by 11 times and data transfer rate by 10 times

[의학신문·일간보사=오인규 기자] At the Korea International Medical and Hospital Equipment Show 2019(KIMES), Samsung Medison showcases ‘HERA W10(Image 1)’, the first series of ‘HERA’, an innovative premium ultrasound diagnostic equipment platform that is differentiated from conventional ultrasound diagnostic equipment lineup.

HERA which stands for Hyper-aperture Enhanced Reconstruction Architecture, entails the meaning of materializing the best ultrasound diagnostic equipment by using acute synthesis aperture technology to reshape the ultrasound image.

HERA W10 is equipped with CrystalBeam™, a next-generation beam former, CrystalLive™, an improved image treatment engine and Crystal Architecture™, which consists of single crystal probe technology of S-Vue™ Transducer. According to internal data, it provides outstanding video quality with 11 times faster processing power and 10 times faster data transfer rate compared to conventional Samsung ultrasound diagnostic equipment.

As a result, it is expected to not only be helpful in identifying congenital defects in ordinary pregnancy but also for high-risk pregnancy.

■ Minute hematocele diagnosis function of MV-Flow™ and LumiFlow™ that shows hematocele in 3D

MV-Flow™(Image 2) is a function that visualizes low-speed and minute hematocele that were not detected from conventional color images, and thus is expected to help the diagnosis of congenital disorders.

LumiFlow™(Image 3), a function that visualizes the flow of hematocele(Color, MV-Flow, S-Flow) in 3D, it facilitates the understanding of the structure of hematocele and minute vessels.

■ ShadowHDR™ with HDR technology and HQ-Vision™ that provides clear image

ShadowHDR™(Image 4) enhances the level of diagnostic credibility by enabling users to check the shadow areas where there is a weakening of the fetal brain or spine by using the High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology of camera and by selectively using high and low frequency of ultrasound.

HQ-Vision™(Image 5) is a image processing function that helps make clearer image by improving the ultrasound image that looks blurry than it actually is. It is highly effective in producing images of fine structures such as humans’muscles, ligament and muscular fiber.

■ FreeForm™, new design of Samsung ultrasound that provides convenient scan environment for users

HERA W10 was designed with FreeForm™ design that took into consideration various user environments including the user’s sight, length to the arms, space in front of the knees and the distance to the patient, and has received the IDEA 2018 Silver Price for its outstanding usability.

Equipped with a control panel that moves in wide ranges, it enables medical personnel to use the equipment at the optimal location, while its touch customization function equipped in the touch screen where users can touch on the menu as they do on their smartphones, reduces the operation time for scanning. The Mobile Sleep function which enables users to turn the equipment to sleep mode while moving the device allows users to reboot quickly, ultimately reducing the scanning time significantly.

Samsung Medison’s new product HERA W10 will be on display at the Samsung Exhibition Hall at COEX Hall C210 during KIMES 2019, and demo services are also available for hospitals. More detailed information for all of Samsung’s ultrasound diagnostic equipment can be found on Samsung Healthcare website.
