지멘스 헬시니어스는 창립 이래 역대 최대 규모인 365명의 전문가들로 구성된 초음파 공동 개발 프로젝트를 통해 변화하는 의료 환경의 요구에 부응하고자 ‘Acuson Juniper’를 출시하였다.
이 시스템의 다양한 기능과 적용성은 다양한 환자의 인체 구조와 생리 작용을 파악하는 데 이상적이며, 사용자는 환자의 조건에 따라 ‘Acuson Juniper’를 커스터마이즈 하여 임상 검사를 더욱 효과적으로 진행할 수 있다.

■ 간편한 이동성에 우수한 기능성까지 겸비
동급 제품 중 가장 작고 가벼운 시스템인 ‘Acuson Juniper’는 사실상 모든 임상시험 환경에 사용하기 적합한데다, 성능을 타협하지 않고서도 우수한 기동력을 발휘한다. 절전 모드와 수초에 불과한 부팅 시간 덕분에 의료분야 종사자가 환자와 함께 해야 할 시간을 낭비하지 않으면서 병원 안 어디로든 시스템을 운반하여 사용할 수 있다.
다양한 임상 진단파트의 요구에 부응하도록 설계된 이 시스템은 유연하고 직관적이며, 사용자에 맞게 장비 각도를 설정할 수 있다. 5개의 능동형 트랜스듀서 포트가 탑재되어 있어 다른 진단과로 운반한 후에도 빠르고 손쉽게 시스템을 사용할 수 있다.
‘Acuson Juniper’의 LED 모니터(21.5인치)와 터치 패널(13.3인치)은 동급 제품 중 최고의 크기를 자랑한다. 시스템에 장착된 두 개의 표준 USB 포트를 사용하면 단시간 내에 영상을 환자에게 전송할 수 있으므로 따로 인쇄물을 출력할 필요가 없다‘. Acuson Juniper’는 소음도

또한 수술실 같은 멸균 환경에서 시스템의 키 패드에 보호 시트를 씌워서 제어 장치를 쉽게 판독하고 사용할 수 있다.

작은 크기가 무색한 영상처리 성능을 자랑하는 ‘Acuson Juniper’는 사용자의 필요사항을 염두에 두고 설계된 혁신적인 영상 촬영 플랫폼으로 구동된다.
‘Acuson Juniper’에 탑재된 엔진은 독보적인 시스템 감도 및 특성뿐 아니라, 우수한 동적 범위를 통해 한층 더 우수한 조직 구분 능력도 발휘한다. 새로운 신호 처리기는 프로브와 환자의 움직임에 의한 허상을 줄이고 신속한 이미지 획득이 가능하다. 그리고 최신 엔진 방식은 고급 기능인 탄성초음파 영상 촬영을 지원하며 새로운 측정 패키지를 갖추고 있다.
16개의 트랜스 듀서가 탑재된 ‘Acuson Juniper’는 영상의학과, 중재 영상의학과, 비뇨기과, 심혈관 수술실, 정형외과, 산부인과를 비롯한 모든 임상 진단파트에서 고급 영상 촬영 애플리케이션의 사용자 설정을 통해 원하는 영상을 확보할 수 있다.
■ 편리하고 정확한 현장검사 시스템 epoc® 혈액분석 시스템
지멘스 헬시니어스는 또한 최근 휴대형 무선 검사 솔루션을 제공하는 회사인 에포칼(Epocal Inc.)를 인수 합병하여 POC 혈액분석 시스템 epoc® 제품 라인을 구축하였다. epoc® 인수를 통하여 지멘스 헬시니어스는 기존의 현장 검사 진단 제품군을 보완하고 전 세계 고객에게 가
장 다양한 혈액 가스 솔루션을 제공할 수 있게 됐다는 점에서 큰 의미를 지닌다.
■ epoc® 혈액분석 시스템 소개
동맥혈 가스 검사는 환자의 산염기 균형을 모니터링하는데 중요한 일상적 검사 항목이다. 동맥혈 가스 검사는 중환자 치료와 관리에 중요한 역할을 하며 폐 및 대사 장애를 진단하는 데 도움이 되기도 한다.
epoc® 혈액분석 시스템은 샘플검사 시작 후 약 30초 만에 환자의 혈액 가스, 전해질 및 대사물 결과를 제공하는 휴대형 무선검사(wireless) 솔루션이다. epoc® 혈액분석 시스템은 BGEM 검사 카드, epoc® 판독기 그리고 epoc® host2 모바일 컴퓨터로 구성되어 있다.
특히 실온 보관이 가능한 일회용 epoc® BGEM 테스트 카드는 검사 수를 미리 예측하여 사용할 시약을 일정시간 실온에 대기시켜야 하는 냉장시약과 다르게 시약의 손실 없이 현장에 테스트 카드를 준비할 수 있다는 점이 큰 장점으로 꼽히고 있다. 테스트 카드 하나로 총 11가지 검사(pH, pCO2, 총 11종)를 동시에 실시한다.
epoc® 혈액분석 시스템은 지멘스 헬시니어스의 새로운 데이터 관리 소프트웨어인 POCcelerator에 기존의 POC 제품군과 함께 연결되어 병원 내에서 하나의 전산시스템을 구축할 수 있다. POCcelerator는 오픈 시스템으로서, 지멘스 헬시니어스의 제품뿐만 아니라 타사의 제품들까지 하나의 소프트웨어로 병원 내의 모든 POC 데이터 관리를 할 수 있다는 특징을 갖는다.

Siemens Healthineers incorporated feedback from the 365 participants in its largest-ever ultrasound co-creation project to ensure that the Acuson Juniper meets the needs of today’s changing healthcare landscape. The system’s versatility and adaptability makes it ideal for diverse patient anatomies and physiologies. Users can customize the Acuson Juniper based on patient interactions for improved clinical workflow.

■ Where Form Meets Function
The smallest, most lightweight system in its class, the Acuson Juniper adapts to virtually any exam environment and maneuvers easily with no tradeoffs in performance.
Sleep and boot-up times of mere seconds allow clinical users to transfer the system within a hospital without sacrificing time with patients. Designed to address the needs of differing clinical departments, the system has flexible, intuitive, and customizable tilt settings. Five active transducer ports allow for the system’s quick and easy readiness after transfer from department to department.
The Acuson Juniper’s LED monitor(21.5 inch) and touch panel(13.3inch) are the largest in its segment. The system’s two standard USB ports enable quick transfer of images to patients, eliminating the need for print-out documentation.
Further improving the patient experience, the Acuson Juniper is 40 percent quieter than other ultrasound systems in its class. Additionally, a protective sheet is available for the system’s key pad, to facilitate the reading and use of the controls while in a sterile environment such as the operating room. This protective skin can be disinfected for reuse.
■ Small on the Outside, Big on the Inside
With an imaging performance that belies its small size, the Acuson Juniper is powered by a completely new imaging platform that was designed from the ground up with user needs in mind. Its new front-end engine offers exceptional system sensitivity and specificity as well as high dynamic range for improved tissue differentiation.
A new signal processor reduces probe and patient motion artifacts, and enables fast image acquisition. A new back-end engine allows advanced elastography imaging and has a new measurement package. For use across departments, the Acuson Juniper is equipped with 16 transducers and is customizable with advanced imaging applications for use in radiology and interventional radiology, urology, cardiovascular, orthopedic, and obstetrics/gynecological imaging.

Siemens Healthineers has recently strengthened its POC blood testing system epoc® product line by recently acquiring Epocal Inc. a company providing portable wireless testing solutions. epoc® product line is being integrated into the digital ecosystem of Siemens Healthineers that is known to provide the most diverse solutions in the in-vitro diagnostic market.
■ Key points of epoc® blood analysis system
Arterial Blood Gas Analysis (ABGA) is an important test for monitoring patient’s acid-base balance. It is also useful for treating critical patients and diagnosis of lung and metabolism disorder.
epoc® blood analysis system is a portable wireless solution that completes the test of sample within 30 seconds and provide test results on the patient’s blood gas and electrolyte and metabolite. It consists of BGEM test card, epoc® reader, and epoc® host2 mobile computer.
BGEM test cards can be stored at normal temperature so that the system does not need refrigeration and stand-by at normal temperature before use as in the case of most other systems in the market. One test card allows the system to test a total of 11 tests(pH, pCO2, pO2, Na+, K+, Ca++, Glu, Lac and Hct).
epoc® blood test system allows hospitals to set up and maintain one POC Ecosystem when linked to POCcelerator, a leading data management software of Siemens Healthineers, together with its existing POC product line.
POCcelerator is an open system that allows the operator to manage all POC data based on its existing equipment and facilities.
